My family participated in its first run together recently…the Kettle Krush! This event benefits the Salvation Army and their aim is to “krush” the myth that they only need donations and support during the holidays. We actually just did the 1K…I know, we really went for it, huh? But the “fun run” as perfect for us, because my now 23-month old was able to complete the entire race without sitting in a stroller! What made it even more exciting was that at a halfway point, they handed him a small bag with...

My family recently embarked on a 15 hour road trip (to coincide with our out of state move), with our infant and toddler sons in tow…yup, driving with our 10 month and 22 month old baby boys. I must admit I was pretty anxious leading up to the ride, trying to plan and figure out what would be the best “plan” for making it to our destination with minimal whining, crying, screaming and complaining. Plus, other than a trip I had made with them to Orlando and Tampa (from Miami), we’d never hit the road with them before… All...

The past 8 days have been a mix of emotions. On the one hand, I’ve got a brand new job, doing something I love…working as a TV Host, on a daily lifestyle show! However on the other hand, I’m leaving behind the “Stay at Home Mom,” life that I’ve led for more than 2 years now. And as if that wasn’t enough, my new job is in another state, so with the love, support and encouragement from my other half, we are uprooting our family and making the “BIG” move. So, 8 days ago, I left them in...

Original post from Aubrey Up Close The Memorial Day Holiday weekend is next week and whether you’re having a BBQ, cookout or perhaps marking a birthday or just celebrating in a patriotic way, I wanted to share some of the details from my son’s first birthday, a “Stars and Stripes” themed bash, which was pretty much everything red, white and blue! The nice thing about this theme is that there’s lots of “Americana” and “Patriotic” party stuff available out there! These days with Pinterest...

Name: Cee Cee Bautista Child & Age: Jay, 19 months…Baby #2…yes, please – someday! Hometown/Current Location: San Francisco, CA/Las Vegas, NV Quick Bio: I grew up in the Bay Area, moved to Los Angeles for university and after living in almost every city in CA, I decided to move to Fabulous Las Vegas. As a massage therapist on the Strip for nearly a decade, I am never too far removed from the tourist experience, but these days, I see this city through a new pair of mommy eyes. I feel like I find fun, kid-friendly &...

As I sit here this Mother’s Day, I find myself reminiscing about how I got to this point…besides the obvious! 😉 I’ve wanted to be a Mom for as long as I can remember, as I’m sure many other women have dreamed. Growing up I think my plan was to go to college and be married by 23, with a baby by 25. Well, as life happened, my idealistic “goals,” didn’t play out that way! After college, I set out to pursue my career in broadcast journalism, and “on the side” indulged in my passion...

The idea of teaching my baby sign language first came to me, when a good friend of mine told me she was teaching hers how to sign and it was working! I mean if you think about it, one of the most frustrating things for babies and toddlers is that they can’t communicate whatever it is they want to tell you…so if signing their “desires” can help eliminate some of that frustration, why not!?!? I first checked out a couple DVDs from the local library, and would casually just play them while he was eating or playing,...

One day he just started taking it off. I guess it all began with lifting up his shirt (to show his belly button), and it seemed so cute and innocent…BUT that quickly progressed into taking his arms out of the sleeves, trying to figure out how to pull the shirt over his head and then how to slip off his shorts/pants/bottoms. Well, apparently the “toddler undressing phase” is perfectly normal behavior for that age! I’ve read that it’s their way of asserting independence and showing that they are their own person! I...

If you’ve ever been on the Babies “R” Us or Toys “R” Us websites and the image above looks familiar…it’s because “Yes, I’m THAT Mom.” One of the most common comments I hear these days (everyone around me is growing their family), from my circle of friends and family is that they saw me online doing a product “review,” for a Medela breast pump no doubt! 😉 Then, I am often times told “you look really familiar,” when meeting new people. Well, chances are...

My baby boy is a DOC Band Graduate! After exactly 3 months of wear, he said “bye bye” to helmet head. The journey was much quicker and easier than we could have ever imagined and we are glad we made the decision to get one for him. In hindsight, I think it was especially nice for him to have the “head gear” during his 6-9 month age range, because it certainly afforded him extra protection as he began maneuvering around as an independent sitter, crawler and eventual standing cruiser, during his time with a DOC band....
