Can you tell me how to get to “Sesame Street?” My family and I weren’t able to find our way to Zoey’s 2nd birthday party this past weekend, and the pictures make me feel a little extra bummed we didn’t make it, because Zoey’s Mom, Alex, did such an AWESOME job pulling together this Sesame Street themed soiree!! She assembled some great decor and fun games that all stayed true to the theme…so, I just had to share!!! These days every party needs a “photo booth,” and I adore the background...

Post written for 53 Weeks by Anjelah Johnson I’m an Auntie to like 300 nieces and nephews. Okay, not that many but, a lot. I consider my best friends to be my family, so that automatically makes me “Auntie Anjelah” to all their kids. Recently though, my sister Veronica and brother-in-law Jason had a baby. My first blood nephew! He is so cute you guys. He’s half Vietnamese and half Mexican. He’s a little “Vietxican!” I love him so stinking much. Thankfully I have had a lot of experience being an aunt before...

It’s one thing to have a sick child, it’s another to have to figure out a way for them to take and successfully consume prescribed medication…that might not appeal to their tastebuds! When my son came down with an ear infection, our pediatrician gave us a script for an antibiotic that would knock it out, and I was so anxious for him to feel better, but upon first taste…it came right back at me…LITERALLY! So, then you have to try different things to hopefully get them to keep it down. I tried mixing it with...

One of my baby sister’s BFF’s is having a baby – this actually makes me feel really old, because I’ve known her friends since they were like 5 years old!!! Anyway, in honor of his upcoming arrival, they celebrated with a Mustache themed baby shower! Lots of fun stuff from the decor to the dessert, games, favors and their own unique spin on playing up the “mustache!” The Mom-to-Be, Gaile, was actually sweet enough to give me great descriptions for the photos I’m featuring in this post…as...

Okay, we all know how important prenatal vitamins are for women who are expecting…heck, even women who aren’t pregnant sometimes take prenatals to “get ready” for the event! Well, I’m not saying ditch the vitamins, but I was pretty excited to learn there are now options to get the appropriate nutrients in your system, you know get the “juices” flowing!! 😉 I came across the product at The Biggest Baby Shower in Miami and I even sipped a sample. I mean, you don’t have to be pregnant to...

Spring has sprung and summer is coming quick…and now is the best time to sign children up for swim lessons! We started our lessons this past weekend, a second “season” of swim instruction for Raef and the first for Isaiah – well, he is only 8 months! For us, living in Florida where there’s water everywhere (ocean, intra-coastal, canals, pools, etc…), we felt it was especially important to get our children familiar and comfortable with the water ASAP. There are all sorts of options when considering swimming...

M-I-C-K-E-Y … M-O-U-S-E!!! Who doesn’t have a soft spot or a fond memory of the most famous mouse of them all?? So, this past weekend I felt like showing my “Disney Side” as my family attended a “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” themed 1st birthday party… and it was quite the shin dig! Lots of great details at this one, all incorporating Mickey and company…nothing was overlooked! My absolute favorite part of the decor had to be the creative decorations. As you can see in the photo above, a huge set...

Last week I started thinking I need to “get on it” in regard to making Easter baskets for my boys. They are still pretty young and can’t really understand the concept of Easter or the bunny, egg hunt, etc…, BUT I need to get in the habit of planning and putting together things like Easter baskets, in advance, or else I’m subjected to what’s left when I make a last minute dash to the store! So, I started thinking about what to put in their “homemade” baskets and it can be a little more challenging...

When I became pregnant with my first born, my gums freaked out! I went to the dentist for a routine checkup and cleaning, and from the look on my hygienist’s face, I knew something was going on, inside my mouth. 🙁 After the cleaning, she, along with my dentist explained to me that along with all the other symptoms associated with pregnancy, oral health can be affected too…and in my case, I had developed pregnancy gingivitis, and it could very well turn into permanent gum disease! All I knew is that THAT sounded horrible....

I’ll admit it, I’m a point collector. That goes for airline miles, hotels, Toys R Us Rewards and my latest obsession is Pampers “Gifts to Grow!” My other half sometimes laughs at my determination and focus on making sure I get all my credits, but I think he’s accepted that it makes me happy. In my pre-mommy days, I was a frequent traveler, so I tried to always fly with certain airlines to accumulate miles, stay at my preferred hotel chains to earn more miles and the same went for associated car rentals and...
