Ice Bucket Challenge x My Toddler

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is everywhere, hitting everyone…literally with cold water and ice! The challenge which involves an individual getting a bucket of ice water dumped over them, was created to bring awareness and help raise money for ALS, also known as Lou Gherig’s disease. The videos have gone viral, and the challenges have become infectious with all kinds of people getting in on the action, the famous and not so famous, joining in to support the cause…and the ALS Association has received $42M and counting.

I was challenged by my friend Jackie and NFL Hall of Famer Bruce Smith, who I helped to complete his challenge on my show by dumping the ice bucket on his head. OK, so I then accepted the challenge and got a bucket — well really a pot, full of ice cold water, dropped on my noggin.

Well, my 2 year old toddler, Raef, was not to be left out and once I was done, he grabbed the “bucket” and relentlessly instructed me to put water in it so he could do the challenge too. So what’s a Mom to do, but let her baby “git er done!” The result was what has to be one of the cutest ALS Ice Bucket Challenges ever! I told him to count it down and maybe I should’ve gotten him a lighter bucket, because well….let’s just say there was a “do-over.” Watch the video to see all of its cuteness!
