Christmas Tree Cupcakes!

tree

I decorated these fun Christmas Tree cupcakes on the show – courtesy of Twisted Sisters Cupcakes, and I thought it was such a simple, but yet very cute idea and easy to do. All you need are the cupcake, sugar (ice cream) cones, green icing, white frosting and powdered sugar, sprinkles, mini M&Ms, etc… whatever you want to decorate with on your tree. A small piece of fondant can also be used to cut and add a star as a tree topper!

First, bake and cool the cupcakes. Then you take your cupcake and cover with white frosting, and sprinkle some powdered sugar on top of the top for a “snow” effect. Then lightly use a butter knife to cover the outside of the cone to be “green.” After that you want to fill the pastry bag (can use ziploc bag) and slowly squeeze out small amount to create the “leaves” on the tree.

When finished, you can sprinkle with powdered sugar to give the tree a dusting of snow, or use sprinkles, mini M&M’s or other small candy to decorate you tree. Then place the tree on the cupcake and there you go! These could make cute centerpieces or edible decor on a table or just be a fun kids holiday craft idea! Enjoy!

Who is Santa without his reindeer? These guys just don’t get enough credit for carrying Santa and all his gift’s around the world on Christmas Eve…but they sure do make cute cookies…that are super easy for anyone, even your little ones, to make!

Ingredients
Sugar Cookies – bake your own or buy a ready to bake package
Chocolate Covered Pretzels for deer antlers
M & Ms for eyes and a nose
Icing (optional)

Step 1: Bake Sugar Cookies

Step 2: When cookies are removed from oven, immediately add antlers (pretzels) before the cookie hardens – can be tricky, use icing if necessary to attach the “ears”

Step 3: Add green M & Ms for eyes and Red M & Ms for the nose, press gently into cookie (or use icing)

Gobble, Gobble: Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies

A good friend of mine makes these Turkey Cookie treats every year for Thanksgiving. Not only are these turkey cookies a fun and festive treat, but it’s a cooking activity the whole family can get in on …just form an assembly line!

Ingredients
Oreo Cookies
Candy Corn
Rice Krispy Treats
Icing

Step One: Split the Oreo Cookies in half, clearing the cream off one side and leaving it on the other.

Step Two: Add icing to the candy corn, and press 5 of them down onto the cleared off side of the Oreo cookie.

This makes the pretty “turkey feathers!”

Step Three: Make Rice Krispies per normal (see recipe on cereal box), then with damp hands shape them into ball shapes and lay onto “turkey feather” side of the cookie. Then “stand up” on cream side to make them all stick together and finish off with a chocolate chip! Gobble Gobble! Enjoy!!!
