Quick Bio: Mommy life has always been a major juggling act for me. When I wasn’t changing diapers or feeding my then-infant and toddler, I was working full-time towards my Journalism degree. I got my start in television news 7 years ago, and have landed positions in both reporting and producing. I recently hopped over to the world of media relations and communications, working for the Ontario government. I love that my babies have been with me every step of the way, and can only hope my sacrifices will teach them how to fight for their dreams and, above all, do what it is that they love. I’m a music lover – classics and the new stuff. I love to eat, travel and can’t wait to add more stamps to my passport. Q: What is your favorite piece of advice to new Moms?
A: I always like to tell new moms, that though they’ll have a ton of questions and eagerly want to seek the advice of mothers who have already been down this road – to just enjoy the moment with their new baby and figure things out for themselves. Sometimes you’ll get it right and sometimes you won’t, but motherhood provides a great learning experience for women. And just think about all the funny stories you’ll have to share!

Q: How would you describe your parenting style?
A: I give my children the best of two worlds – I’m strict but I’m also lots of fun. I’m lucky that my daughters have both adopted my silly personality traits, so we are constantly laughing about something! We have common interests, like dancing and singing, so it’s often a party in our house. The girls are also really starting to know my likes, dislikes, and what I absolutely won’t tolerate. Do they push my buttons anyway? They sure do. But they know they’ll pay the consequence with some discipline from mommy.

Q: What’s your most memorable Mommy moment to date?
A: It would have to be my second child’s home birth. It went so smoothly (aside from the excruciating pain) and was such an intimate experience. I’ll never forget the feeling of being in the comfort of my own home in those first few moments with my new little family.

Q: As a Mommy what is it that you feel you do “right”? Share something you have learned about yourself since you became a Mom.
A: Motherhood has really shown me how much of a bookworm and scholar I was as a child. I have such a keen interest in how the girls are doing in school and enjoy teaching them academic subjects outside of the classroom. The teachers usually know me by first name, because I’m “that” mom sometimes, but there is no shame in my game when it comes to my children and their success.

Q: Describe your “Haute Mom” (fashion) style!
A: My style is very simple, chic, and sophisticated (when it needs to be). I love to bargain hunt, perhaps it’s the mom in me. I put myself together very well, and always at a fraction of the price many others are willing to pay. For years, I’ve mainly rocked my hair in various short styles and colours, not only because I think short hair cuts are super sexy, but also because I tend to look very youthful with longer hair. I try to keep my nails manicured; I wear minimal makeup and like to experiment with lipstick colours. At the very least, my eyebrows must be shaped at all times (I’m a fan of threading), or else I won’t be caught dead outside without a fabulous pair of sunglasses to hide them.
