My boys are finally getting to an age and stage where they are connecting the dots and showing interest in dressing up like some of their favorite characters and I’ll catch them in “character” here and there as they take on different roles.

Last Halloween I put them in custom superhero shirts and capes…and they wore them for all of 5 minutes!

The other week my older toddler had his face painted for the very first time and he chose to be a tiger.

We attended a Disney “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” themed birthday party recently, and they each gladly donned a Jake costume and LOVED it!

They’ve also channeled their inner cowboys through pony rides and cowboy hats.

Do you encourage and allow your children engage in role playing and dress up? If so, what types of things do you do with your child?
