erinsName: Erin Kennedy Salvetti
Child & Age: Grace, 1.5 years old
Hometown/Current Location: Atascadero, Ca/ Irvine, Ca

Quick Bio: I am a mom a wife and a business owner. After moving 3 times this past year for my husbands job we have landed in Orange County Ca…at least for the time being! I own a barre workout company called “Barre8 Fitness.” It is an effective combo of the strength found in dance technique, the balance of yoga and the core work of Pilates. I teach at various locations around Southern Ca and instruct teacher training courses for Barre8. In my free time I love to spend quality time with Grace and my husband of 5 years Dante!

Q: What is your “go to” snack/toy/show trick when your kids start to fuss?
A: My go-to’s are “Happy Baby Organic Puffs,” “Goldfish, aka “fishies” in the baby size, and Bubbles are always a crowd pleaser.

Q: What is your favorite piece of advice to new Moms?
A: Trust your gut…you know your baby best … Ooh and– sleep when they sleep:)

Q: How do you incorporate fitness into your daily routine?
A: Teaching group exercise for a living definitely helps but times when I am not teaching, I try to schedule it into my week. I go to a health club where I can bring Grace to the day care so I know she is being well taken care of while I get my sense of sanity and release! Otherwise, if we are going to the park I take the long route and incorporate a few push-ups, triceps dips, and lunges on the jungle gym and a good game of chase always helps too.

Q: What’s your most memorable Mommy moment to date?
A: If there is music on this girl is dancin…or at least trying to. This past summer after she turned one, anytime there was music playing (she preferred “Blurred Lines”–PRE Miley Cyrus!!) she was bobbin her head. We have this hilarious moment recorded where my husband and I are dancing and she is watching us and mimicking our moves. It is a crazy moment when you realize they are such sponges just learning from you everyday!! Pretty amazing!

Q: As a Mommy what is it that you feel you do “right”?
A: As we are approaching the “Terrible Two’s” we have entered the screaming phase…not ideal when in public places;) but I really try to make her happy while keeping my cool. Talking to her calmly and doing what I can (within reason) to diffuse the situation has helped. She may not understand right away what I am saying, but they eventually get it and you learn together how to make both sides (yours and theirs) happy.
